Despite her name, the Asparagus fern is a light, feathery perennial herb, native to South Africa.
Her delicate leaves grow up from their stems and create a frothy, fern - like foliage.
She can produce bell shaped flowers from Spring to Autumn which are followed with green berries that then blacken as they mature.
She thrives on humidity so water regularly and if possible, mist her daily - focussing on her stems and lacy foliage. If she turns brown and droopy, she needs more water. Ideally, she’ll be very happy in temperatures around 21’c.
Keep her out of direct sunlight – a spot in dappled shade is perfect.
A regular feed with diluted plant food will help keep her healthy.
